What is required?

The school currently needs your financial support for ongoing operating costs,
improved electricity and water supply, tools in the workshops,
construction of dining hall & laboratory, and the sanitation facilities of the girls‘ and boys‘ boarding sections.

Expansion of workshops

The further expansion of the workshops remains a major challenge. We still need approximately €190,000 to complete the shell construction. We very much hope that sponsors will come forward to provide financial support for the expansion of this building, which is so important for our school.

Tools

Fünf Werkstättenräume sind fertig ausgebaut und bereits in Betrieb genommen. Leider gibt es für die Ausbildung der Lehrlinge fast kein geeignetes Werkzeug. Die Schule bittet daher dringend um werkzeugliche Ausstattung für die Bereiche Tischlerei, Schneiderei, Maurerei, Wasser-Installation, Metallbau und Metallbearbeitung sowie Elektro-Installation und um Spenden für neue oder gebrauchte Werkzeuge.

Books in the library

The school has very few books in its library. There is still a shortage of teaching materials and books. We are asking for donations of books for both secondary and vocational education. Suitable teaching materials and textbooks are essential for successful learning.

Cistern

The school grounds still lack a large cistern that can hold water and reliably supply the school with water. A continuous power supply is not guaranteed, and the water pump is also prone to malfunction.

Volunteer staff

Last year, we had a volunteer from Austria who was a great help to us in many areas. We would like to invite women and men, boys and girls who are willing to work at our school to come to Uganda and join us at our vocational school, St. Konrad! Uganda, ‘the Pearl of Africa,’ is a beautiful country well worth visiting!

Sponsorships for students and teachers

There are students whose parents cannot afford the school fees. With a sponsorship of approximately 300 euros per year, you can enable a student in need to attend our school for one year. We also ask for sponsorships of 150 euros per month for our teachers. Good and dedicated teachers are the backbone of our school!
